The txalaparta’s sounds come from the blows of those who strike it, but once the act of playing has finished, no one owns what has sounded; it cannot be held onto, its nature challenges fixation, the blow becomes a liberating thing which mutates the soul of the player. Listening to and perceiving your own body becomes deeper and turns into flight. It is the multiplication of the powers of action, the evidence of that jumble of diverse matters that make us up.
